Olga Maria Hungar
Presentation
For the architectural practice raumlabor the role of the architect ranges from fearless visionary to careful observer and moderator to pragmatic decision maker. In this context architecture is a tool, in the search for a city of possibilities. Many projects of raumlaborberlin contribute to the discussion about sensibly managing resources by using discarded materials as old doors, windows, furniture, bottles, car door to create new spaces. For temporary projects we extract elements form the production cycle and return them at the end of the projects. With surprising or unconventional approaches and materials we try to merge space with individual experience and create new narratives of the city in the minds of its users. This talk will focus on some of the temporary city projects we have developed, addressing the processes of their development, outcomes and implications.
