Biography

Sandy Kaltenborn is the founder of the Berlin-based graphic design and visual communication studio image-shift. The studio is known for its social and political based work with an articulation towards urban issues, including those relating to housing, labour, city and migrant rights. Committed to co-creating with communities, visual material and narratives that foster more just and equitable cities, in 2011, Kaltenborn along with members of the Turkish community founded Kotti & Co., a tenant movement that looks at changing dysfunctional social housing systems, through stopping rent increases and demanding the repurchasing of social housing.
